About

Kendra Hitchcock is a Utah-based oil painter whose work explores the fragile beauty of impermanence. Originally from Seattle, Washington, her passion for art began at a young age and evolved into formal study. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Utah Valley University, with additional focus in Art History and a minor in Digital Media.

Before dedicating herself fully to painting, Kendra built a successful career as an engineer in the tech industry. The precision and discipline from that path now inform her meticulous approach to the canvas. Her paintings—held in private and corporate collections around the world—are known for their smooth brushwork, luminous highlights, and symbolic subject matter.

Rooted in the traditions of memento mori and vanitas, Kendra’s work meditates on mortality, memory, and transformation. Through dramatic chiaroscuro lighting and carefully chosen objects, she creates quiet, contemplative compositions that invite reflection. Each piece balances darkness with light, evoking an atmosphere where reverence and decay, presence and absence, coexist.
